Bio

Michael Gofman has earned his Ph.D. in finance and MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. Gofman also holds M.A. in economics and M.Sc. in finance from the Tel Aviv University.

Current Research Programs

Interbank Trading and Financial Regulation
We build a theoretical framework to study banks decisions to borrow. lend and trade with other banks. We solve a planner's problem and a decentralized problem to study welfare. Two main insights are: (1) banks can use interbank loans to collude, (2) there are benefits fo having the same financial institutions providing loans and trading derivatives.
