Rochester, N.Y.—October 27, 2009—Strategic leadership expert Sydney Finkelstein, Ph.D., will deliver the 4th Sands Leadership Lecture at theSimon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester. In addition to strategic leadership, Finkelstein specializes in general management, top management teams, corporate crises and mistakes, and managing mergers and acquisitions. His current research focuses on topics including why smart executives fail and keys to leadership success and failure.
The Sands Leadership Lecture showcases top executives and academics on the many facets of effective leadership. The lecture is made possible through the generous support of Richard Sands, board chairman at Constellation Brands, one of the world’s largest producers of wine and spirits and imported beer. Sands is a member of the Simon School Executive Advisory Committee, a group of prominent executives that advises Dean Mark Zupan on the School’s strategic direction.
